Responsibilities:
- Fight for the users–be a staunch advocate for our users and evangelize user experience throughout the organization.
- Conduct UX research and usability tests with customers and share findings with stakeholders.
- Partner with Product peers to contribute to overall strategy and decision-making about product direction.
- Help deliver clear storytelling around customer needs and business opportunities.
- Work cross-functionally with product management, engineering, and design peers.
- Independently lead research planning and execution, effectively building alignment with cross-functional peers and stakeholders throughout the research process.
- Clearly communicate insights and learnings, tying directly to actionable next steps and impact on product direction.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the UX Research team and discipline.
- Represent customer needs and opportunities, backed by data, in strategic product planning and prioritization.
- Collaborate with Design and Product leadership to align on research priorities and roadmap across multiple work streams.
- Partner closely with other researchers to build out Smartsheet’s research practice and infrastructure including sourcing research vendors to augment the work of your team.
Skills and Education:
- 5+ years relevant user research experience working on digital experiences with a proven track record of generating actionable insights that resulted in measurable product improvements.
- Experience with a broad range of research methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative, across the various stages of product development (pre and post product launch)
- Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, driving alignment around user needs and incorporating peers into the research process.
- Experience planning and driving cross-functional, brainstorming activities (such as design sprints or similar exercises)
- Experience conducting complex research at scale.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can present effectively to executive audiences.
- Relentless focus on users and solving for their needs and wants.
- Have considerable experience translating user needs into AI strategies
- Enterprise software, commercial real estate, real estate technology or finTech experience
- Demonstrated success coaching and leading a team(s) in a rapidly growing and iterative culture.
- A passion for analytics, key metric definition and their tracking - to drive design decisions.
Salary: $125,000 - $220,000 annually
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $220,000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
