We are seeking GA Pre-K Lead Teachers to support our GA Pre-K program! This state funded program supports preschool age children.
To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education (ECE) OR bachelor’s degree in unrelated field plus a CDA OR Montessori Teaching credential OR associates in ECE OR ability to meet the state ECE credit hours requirement.
Required Shift: Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm
Employment type: Full-time, 180 days per year
Compensation: $25,741.35 - $49,843.04 per year, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities:

Must meet the requirements of the state licensing agency and be physically and mentally fit to care for children at Provider.

Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by maintaining a developmentally appropriate classroom environment and providing appropriate supervision of children.

Plan, supervise, and implement the program for the class in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the Provider.

Plan and implement weekly lesson plans base on the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS), Work Sampling Online System (WSO) assessment data and Georgia Pre-K approved Curriculum.

Communicate clearly and appropriately with children, parents, staff, and others.

Build partnerships with parents of children by treating them with respect, welcoming them into the classroom, daily communication, parent-teacher conferences, and providing frequent and varied parent involvement opportunities.

Maintain child portfolio and participate in ongoing observation-based assessments to assess the developmental levels of the children. Using BFTS Work sampling online – assessment for the children.

Participate in staff meetings, recommend training programs, classes, and other aspects of professional growth, and complete the training hours as required by Provider and by the state, including after hour sessions.

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and be able to see, hear and respond to children’s needs including reaching high, stooping to the child’s level, sitting on the floor and getting up being able to reach a child 20-30 feet away within 15 seconds without danger to staff person’s health. Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time at least 90% of the day.
