**Job Summary:**
The Public Safety Team will serve as a visible presence in designated areas, providing assistance, information, and a sense of security to the public. This role involves proactive engagement with community members, monitoring safety issues, and collaborating with law enforcement and other public service agencies.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- -Provide visible presence, while wearing the authorized uniform, within the boundaries of the Downtown Reno Partnership area District and the assigned Zone with the primary emphasis to deter unwanted behavior.
- - Provide a variety of services by interacting with pedestrians in a polite and professional manner, offering assistance, information, and addressing quality of life infractions within the district boundaries.
- Observe and report suspicious activities, safety hazards, and incidents to the appropriate authorities.
- Foster positive relationships with the community through regular interaction and engagement.
- Assist with special events, crowd control, and emergencies as needed.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and other public service agencies to enhance community safety.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
- Enforce safety regulations and protocols
- Provide first aid and CPR as needed
- Strong conflict management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively
**Qualifications:**
- Nevada Guard Card.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Baton and Pepper Spray permit.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven work experience as a security guard or in a relevant position (3 years).
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Previous experience in security, public safety , or a related field is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to patrol on foot, bicycle, or vehicle for extended periods.
