Position Title: In Process Inspector
Position summary:
Inspects and tests purchased material, in-process material, and finished products to assure proper workmanship and conformity to approve standards and specifications. Maintains quality records for all parts and/or railcars produced in the plant.
Tasks:
- Observe and inspect ongoing rail car assembly work.
- Review plans and specifications to ensure that work is in compliance with plans and specifications.
- Review and sign for actual work completed.
- Conducts audits as necessary.
- Inspect railcars and report deficiencies on inspection checklist to ensure compliance with specification standards.
- Maintain a daily activity of work in progress and status of completion and discusses construction related problems with supervisor.
- Witness and understand dynamic and static testing.
- Perform in-process and final inspections and pre-shipment checks.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Skills:
- Know the railcar assembly process including material, methods, plans and specifications; associated safety requirements.
· Able to stand for long periods of time with limited breaks.
· Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and team lift up to 150 pounds.
· Work in extreme temperatures and elements for an extended period of time.
· Must be able to work in confined spaces.
· Must be able to work at elevated heights.
· Must be able to read and comprehend basic drawings and scope of work.
· Must possess basic math skills, addition, subtraction.

Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); 3 years verifiable work experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
