Job Summary:
Join our healthcare team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic medical environment. As a PACU Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the recovery and monitoring of patients post-surgery, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Duties:
- Provide direct patient care in the PACU setting, monitoring vital signs and assessing patient condition post-anesthesia.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders, focusing on acute pain management and adherence to standards of care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for patients recovering from surgical procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting patient progress and any changes in condition.
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions, including pain management techniques.
- Ensure the availability and proper functioning of medical equipment and supplies in the PACU.
- Assist with procedures such as infant care, mammography, and other specialized treatments as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Skills:
- Acute care expertise with a focus on post-anesthesia recovery.
- Proficiency in pain management techniques for optimal patient comfort.
- Familiarity with Cerner or similar electronic health record systems.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous.
- Knowledge of travel nursing practices and procedures.
- Previous exposure to a Level II Trauma Center is beneficial.
