Busy Orthopedic Practice in Fort Worth specializing in Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery seeks an engaging Medical Assistant with NCT or LMRT with exceptional people skills and experience in the medical field.
Essentials:
A self-starter with the passion to excel in everything you do, comfortable working in an environment that is constantly changing, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. The medical assistant role functions in a dual clinical and clerical capacity within the practice setting.
When performing clinical duties, this role functions under the supervision of a physician, assisting in the delivery of patient care. Clinical duties include:
- rooming and discharging patients
- writing HPI (history of present illness)
- taking x-rays
- drawing injections
- splinting/casting
- brace fittings
Clerical duties are performed under the direct supervision of the practice manager and include:
- preparing and sending out orders for medications, imaging, referrals and therapy
- promptly returning voicemails
- completing FMLA and other patient paperwork
Data entry skills are required of this role, as each patient encounter is entered into an electronic medical record (EMR).
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience
- NCT or LMRT certification preferred (non-certified radiological technician or limited medical radiological technologist)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
