POSITION AGREEMENT
POSITION TITLE: Technician
Result Statement: This position is responsible for the following results:
Perform the duties of interacting with customers, accurately inputting the data and filling prescriptions, supporting the Pharmacist’s role with patients and working well with the team.
Technical Work Listing: This position is responsible for the following tactical work:
- Make patients feel welcomed and appreciated with smiles and solutions
- Customers should be addressed immediately upon reaching the pharmacy counter
- Complete customer information is gathered including phone number
- Prescriptions filled accurately, quality assurance procedures followed
- Prescriptions filled for waiting patients within 15 minutes
- Any delay or issue in routine fill communicated immediately to patient
- Work station is kept clean and clear of clutter, completely cleared off at end of day
- At work station ready for work at start of shift
- Confirm all insurance coverage and reimbursement
- Print and confirm all labels
- Follow up with patients if needed
Standards: The following are quantity and behavior standards for this position:
Position Specific:
- NDC numbers should match when filling prescriptions
- Fill and manage all Simplify My Meds patients prescriptions
- Be aware of any negative reimbursements and notify Pharmacist if issue arises
- If a traditional too expensive for the patient, have the compounding technician see if we can compound the prescription
- Call patients if a medication has to be ordered or an order is incomplete
- Be aware of the order amount and keep it as close to the COGS on pharmacy transaction report as possible
- Scan all written or telephone orders
- Use the controlled substance website if needed to identify any fraudulent or overused narcotics
- Assist in answering the phone, speak your name, and answer within 2 rings
- Order all necessary prescription products
- Put all RX order on the shelf
- Check in CII order, log it to inventory in pharmacy system, and log it in the orderexpress.cardinalhealth.com website
- Order prescription vials, labels, copy paper, and toner cartridges when needed
- Assist in any marketing or incentive up-sales.
- Follow-up folder should be reviewed on a daily basis
- Fill all orders on the calendar, faxes, and online orders
- Straighten shelves when needed
- Keep up-to-date on any regulatory or legal changes within the pharmacy
- Print/email statements on the 1st of every month
- File prescriptions in drawer and transfer to back room and/or upstairs as room provides
- Take prescription orders from Dr’s office over the phone and handle transferred prescriptions from and to other pharmacies
- Answer phone calls within 2 rings.
- Prepare the store for opening/closing according to Opening and closing checklists
- Update dry erase board at front of store with new marketing and advertising promotions
- Help with pulling prescriptions and gathering information for audits
- Aid the DME coordinator with processing any DME issues that relate to the pharmacy system
- Keep accurate info for the “Owe book”
- Help out front when needed or putting the order up (OTC) if needed
- Keep pharmacy and back room clean.
Company Wide:
- No personal Cell Phone use
- All proprietary company info should be kept confidential
- Employee should follow HIPPA guidelines
- Manager should be notified if there are any unresolved issues
Duties listed are not to be all-inclusive and are not to be limited to exclude and duties reasonably assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Pharmacy Technician Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
- Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (Preferred)
- PTCB Certification (Preferred)
