Patient Care Coordinator
- Greet patients upon arrival and ensure reasonable wait times are maintained.
- Perform check-in and check-out duties, including verifying patient demographics,
confirming insurance details, obtaining pre-authorizations or pre certifications for
procedures, and copying necessary documents.
- Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles, and issue receipts.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, redirect calls as needed, and assist callers
with inquiries or concerns.
- Maintain medical records by organizing, filing/scanning, and preparing them for
appointments.
- Scan and file all correspondence, process requests for medical records release,
and maintain accurate logs.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, staff, and the public.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical office setting.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records systems (EPIC) preferred
- Understanding of Medi-Cal, HMOs, PPOs, and third-party payors, including
authorization and eligibility requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook email, and basic PC applications.
- High School Diploma
- Spanish preferred
