We are a family-owned automotive mechanic and body shop that is growing and looking for a driven individual who has experience as a service writer and or service advisor for our mechanic area. Salary-based pay. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturdays from 8am - 2pm. We are also a collision center and if you able to write bodyshop collision estimate in CCC that's a plus with additional pay opportunities.
A Service Advisor’s main responsibility is to interpret customer concerns for the auto mechanic so that the mechanic can diagnose and repair problems correctly. The advisor then translates the actual repair problem, which may be very complicated, into language the customer can understand.
The job duties of an Auto Service Advisor will include but are not limited to the following:
-Greeting customers and scheduling service appointments.
- Answering incoming calls and preparing estimates depending on the repair.
-Cataloging customers' concerns and comments.
-Translating customers’ repair problems into standard repair terminology.
-Writing service orders and descriptions of problems and repairs. Explaining repairs to customers and selling the customer on any needed repairs and upsell on any other repairs. We do not like to push the customer or pressure the customer but make them aware from a safety standpoint of what's needed and other items in order of urgency.
-Estimating the cost and time needed for repairs by making an estimate or quote. Our shop management system has built-in labor guides and integration to view all of our part vendors. We use Tekmetric which has scheduling, texting, online parts ordering, and digital visual inspections. (The technician takes pictures/video of anything that is damaged, dirty, leaking, or needing repairs)
-Ordering parts through our shop management system, receiving parts, notifying technicians of parts received. If parts are wrong, then you will be responsible for returning the parts to the correct vendor and setting up the return.
-Follow proper systems and procedures, start, follow through and close RO's in a timely manner.
-Test-driving vehicles to confirm service repairs.
- Provide customers with updates regarding the repairs and parts updates
-Handling customer complaints.
-Filing departmental paperwork & scanning any invoices into repair order (RO)
