Primary Purpose:
Plans and coordinates train operations with yards and terminals on the division, adjoining divisions and foreign lines.
Principal Duties:

Supervises train dispatchers and oversees the safety of the dispatching function and assures compliance with operating rules and procedures.

Manages the supply of train and engine crews and arranging for deadheads to or from away-from-home terminals to balance crews.

Manages local locomotive pools, plans for power requirements, and coordinates with the locomotive center regarding locomotive utilization.

Requires good working knowledge of safety and operating rules, train operations, Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations, Hazardous Materials, Corporate policies, labor agreements as well as Thoroughbred Yard Enterprise System (TYES), crew call, and other applications.
