The Staff Accountant's position is to support the administrative, property management and development activities of the organization by maintaining and documenting the financial condition of the corporation and its subsidiaries. The Staff Accountant serves as an active member of the organization's team by supporting and sustaining the corporation's operations as well as by assisting with the safe guarding of the corporation's financial and real estate assets.
The Staff Accountant reports to, and is supervised, by the organization's Chief Executive Officer.
The position requires a BA/BS in Accounting and no less than five (5) years experience.
The position requires an ethical, loyal and transparent individual to fill the position.
Essential components of the position include but are not limited to:
-Maintain financial status/condition of organization and its subsidiaries by collecting and recording all transactions;
- Complete all program and property financial reporting required by lenders, investors and public agencies;
-Maintain and process all accounts payable and receivable;
-Obtain revenue by preparing financial reports and reimbursement documents while maintaining an accounts receivable tracking system;
-Assure uninterrupted insurance coverage for all properties and operations;
-Maintain organization's financial information system;
-Compliance with Federal, State and Local Financial and Legal Requirements;
-Compliance with GAAP.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
-Preparing prompt payment of all accounts payable;
-Completing monthly bank reconciliations for all entities and properties;
-Completing, with CEO, annual budgets for all programs and properties;
-Maintaining monthly reconciliations of budgets with income and expenses;
-Maintain accounting of employee benefits inclusive of leave, time, medical, mileage, etc.;
-Maintain all accounting files inclusive of daily back up;
-Coordinate annual audit process with CPA/Auditor and CEO for all entities;
-Other duties as assigned.
Required knowledge, skills, abilities and attributes include but are not limited to:

-Maintain conformance with corporate documents inclusive of By-Laws, Mission Statement, Personnel Policies, Management Policies, etc.;
-Accurately interpret policies, procedures and other written materials;
-Demonstrates skill in use of computer work processing and spreadsheet programs;
-Functions under a variety of working conditions inclusive of deadlines;
-Treats supervisor, colleagues, staff, tenants, vendors and contractors with respect;
-Maintain a clean and safe working environment;
-Coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency.
The position is that of Full Time and Permanent following a six (6) month probationary period. The hours are Monday thru Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with occasion evening meetings. The primary job location is the organization's main office in Wappingers Falls, New York.
The position's annual salary range is $55,000 to $60,000. Benefits inclusive Vacation, Sick and Personal Leave following a six (6) month probationary period as well as 11 paid holidays. Benefits inclusive employee medical insurance, full payment of LTD, Life Insurance, Dental and Vision coverage. Mileage is reimbursed for work related travel.
