The College of Dentistry is seeking a Receiving and Distribution Manager. This position is responsible for providing supply, equipment and operational logistics leadership and oversight to the Instrument Management / Storeroom/ Shipping and Receiving (IMS) unit and the Central Sterilization / Dispensing units.
Summary:
This position ensures supply chain support, including sterilized instruments, is delivered to all college clinics in a manner that ensures quality of care is being delivered. Responsible for implementing and maintaining a standard and effective supply chain management system in all college clinics. Provides leadership and management for all materials and supply chain staff, including central sterilization and dispensing. Identifies new areas to implement lean principles and reduce inventory on hand. Responsible for establishing standard work and supply room configurations. Works with building services analyzing and recommending sufficient space and other resource requirements needed in future supply chain spaces. Trains all supply chain staff, including central sterilization and dispensing, to apply lean principles. Continuously assesses and makes improvements and maintains appropriate quality control programs. Provides for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education for staff. Responsible for the leadership and management of teams, including coaching, developing, hiring/firing and evaluating staff. Develops operating procedures. Manages operating budgets. Coordinates special projects.
Provides oversight of all instrument processing in accordance with OSHA and college safety and infection control standards, including sterilization, distribution and maintenance. Reviews all unit logs to ensure appropriate safety and infection control standards are met. Oversees timely and appropriate use of the electronic inventory tracking system (e.g., AStar). Works with the IMS, CS and Dispensing units to ensure accurate coding of clinical instruments for inclusion in the system, timely instrument distribution to the students and loading student identification information into the system annually.

Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Compensation
$64,300.00 - $84,550.00/annually
Compensation is based on experience.
Position Requirements
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
Physical Requirements: Candidate must be able to: work nights and/or weekends as needed for college for college events; frequently lifting / pulling / pushing up to 70 pounds, bending / twisting / turning / reaching below knees and above shoulders on a regular basis; standing / walking/ for periods of time. Candidate must have the use of both hands; other specific requirements include excellent hand-eye coordination; visual acuity and communication / language development. Individuals in this position may be exposed to the following: chemical hazards (skin irritants).
Experience and Education
Required: Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five to seven years’ supervisory experience. Materials Management/ Inventory Control and/or sterilization experience, operations experience, lean management experience. Proven knowledge of regulatory standards, excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and excellent organizational skills. Advanced knowledge with supply chain logistics and inventory management systems; a high level of competence with Microsoft Office computer software and office equipment.
Desired: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business management, business administration, or relevant field and extensive experience in a clinical/hospital setting or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the dental field preferred.
