Fowler General Construction is seeking experienced, qualified applicants for Safety Health Professional (Safety Specialist) to create an exceptional physical environment and to ensure that construction workers and the public are kept safe and out of harm’s way. You’ll act as the primary safety liaison to the General Contractor’s Safety Representatives and will conduct job site inspections to monitor conformance with Constructions Safety Standards. More importantly though, you’ll oversee cultivating an ethos of construction safety best practices across our organization. CHST is required.
Safety Health Professional Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety/environmental incident investigations and complete associated infraction reports.
- Inspect construction sites and company properties to ensure compliance and promote prevention.
- Review incident data and metrics to identify trends and recommend corrective action to address these areas.
- Conduct safety/environmental training and meetings.
- Provide risk assessment of construction/manufacturing and shop locations to evaluate safety hazards and offer remedial action.
- Evaluate contractor operational practices/equipment for safety compliance.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Environmental, Health and Safety Guidelines as well as OSHA and AGC requirements.
Safety Health Professional Requirements:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative working environment.
- Strong overall knowledge of applicable environmental statutes and safety regulations
- Operational knowledge of general industry and construction activities
- Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think creatively in providing effective solutions to complex problems.
Experience/Education:
- B.S. Degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in an industrial or construction safety consulting role (preferred)
- CHST preferred, or ability to obtain CHST during first year of employment (required)
- Computer skills and familiarity with MS Office programs (required)
- Capable to perform physical requirements of the position (climb ladders, stairs, negotiate work areas under construction, etc.) (required)

Pay: $58,161.00 - $94,710.00 per year
