The Addiction Therapist & IOP Group Facilitator will utilize a strengths-based recovery-focused approach to facilitate trauma-informed, trauma-specific, cultural, and gender-responsive substance use and mental health supports to residents of SRN. This position will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works with behavioral health professionals and primary care providers to provide integrated healthcare to the individuals we serve in order to achieve their identified goals.
Works one-on-one and in groups Intensive Outpatient Treatment and Outpatient Treatment. This job also provides an opportunity for supervision toward Licensure/Certification.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide Orientation for Members of the IOP/OP
- Assists in providing referrals to members for other community services they may need
- Maintains attendance for members of the IOP/OP Program
Responsible to provide all aspects of treatment:
- Completes Bio-Psychosocial Assessments
- Utilizes the Stages of Change and Severity Index to note medical necessity and clinically
appropriate levels of care
- Assesses for roadblocks to recovery as well as additional needs
- Develops Master Treatment Plans with the input of the member
- Conducts therapeutic individual sessions
- Completes discharge summaries
- Represents the program in a professional manner to community partners.
- Works with the Clinical Team for the best therapeutic approaches and care for each member
- Abides by the Code of Ethics for the agency as well as the NAADAC Code of Ethics for addictions counselors.
- Manages crises, make the appropriate referrals, and follow protocol
- Advocates for recovery
Leads and participates in groups and activities:
- Works with other IOP Treatment staff to lead groups that will promote recovery for members
- Works with supervisor to determine outings that promote community integration and recovery
- Meets with IOP/OP members to complete necessary paperwork, to track progress on treatment plan goals, and to develop ways to meet goals
- Completes group notes in the POP format for all IOP/OP groups led. Ensures these are submitted timely
- Uses recovery language and demonstrates/models respect for the members
- Will coordinate member’s attendance at community 12-step/recovery groups
Responsible for completing all aspects of the person’s record:
- Completes all required documentation in AWARDS as outlined in the documentation grid
- Inputs documentation that is signed as required, of high quality, and in a manner that can be clearly understood by members, other staff, and monitoring sources
- Maintains member information in a manner consistent with the Confidentiality Policy and Federal regulations regarding Chemical Dependency treatment (CFR 42, part2)
Assists members in employment preparedness:
- Ensures that employment is discussed regularly with the members, and that all members interested in employment are referred to the Employment Staff
- Assists members who are interested in employment work on their employment goal
Values cultural competence and diversity:
- Collaborates with staff, members, and the community to gain the perspectives of others having diverse opinions, abilities, values, beliefs, perspectives, and ethnic or cultural backgrounds
- Takes deliberate steps to increase own cultural competency by attending trainings, events, discussions, workshops, etc
Other Duties:
- Attend staff meetings as necessary
- Will complete all trainings annually
- Assists members with transportation issues. Coordinates with the IOP/OP Van Driver as necessary
- Participates in parties, member meetings, and other clubhouse activities as they occur
- Completes other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling or a directly related field preferred
- HSPP, LCAC, LSW, LCSW or LMHC licensure preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology or related field with applicable experience, and/or specialized license or CADAC Certification
- Experience in a clinical setting working with a variety of populations
- Must have excellent diagnostic and treatment planning skills
