SUPERVISOR: Taglit Program Director
Position Description:
The Disability Program Services Department provides two day programs, Arts for All and Taglit. These programs provide a small supportive group of young adults with disabilities with a full-day program designed to explore, cultivate, and maximize each individual’s potential. The Day Program Supervisor is responsible for providing assistance to Taglit’s Direct Support Professionals. The Day Program Supervisor will work with the Director of Taglit to address each staff member’s daily support needs and ongoing training. The Supervisor will also have a vital role in observing, assessing, and informing the Director Taglit of the support needed for each participant to meet their program goals.
Position Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Director Taglit, the Day Program Supervisor will:
- Assess staff attendance and assign group supervision roles to meet each group’s staff ratio requirements
- Observe all program participant groups and communicate immediate and ongoing training needs to Director
- Provide daily staff coaching, training, and problem solving for all staff members
- Assist Director with new participants’ program orientation
- Assist Director with new staff onboarding and ongoing training
- Act as a mentor and a leader, modeling appropriate behavior for cohorts
- Assist Program Specialist with planning and coordinating field trips
- Provide participants and staff with daily announcements
- Maintain and monitor accurate sign in and sign out logs
- Provide direct service when necessary
- Attend weekly meetings with Direct Support Professionals and the Program Specialist
- Maintain clear and open communication with the Director
- Other responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with the people with disabilities or in social services (2+ years preferred)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Supervisory Experience Preferred
- Excellent Organizational Skills
- Driver’s License Required
- CPR/First Aid certification, Article 9 Certification, Fingerprint clearance card (all can be obtained after hire)
- The ability to have fun and enjoy oneself, work, human contacts, and the environment
