The full salary range is: $43,285-$77,458. The expected hiring range is $43,285-$56,954 depending on qualifications, with an excellent benefits package. Work Schedule: 40 hours weekly. Varied hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM, 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM evening per week, rotating weekend shifts: SAT 9:00 AM- 6:00 PM, SUN 2:00 PM-6:00 PM

Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
Consistent with the library's mission of providing free and equal access to information and life-long learning and the joys of reading, this professional librarian position in the library's Information Services Division provides both traditional reference and information services. This position will serve as a Librarian at the Information Services Desk daily and on the rotating weekend schedule.
Responsibilities and duties will include:

Provides proactive customer service by assisting in finding answers to questions, using library resources, and providing readers advisory. Information and reference services will be provided by phone, in person, and e-mail.

A successful candidate must be able to work with a diverse population in an urban environment, be a good team player with colleagues, and work well with partner agencies and organizations in the community.

Executes library and the City of Greensboro policies and procedures. Includes ensuring that the library environment is conducive to excellent customer service. (i.e. behavior guidelines, computer use policies, reporting equipment problems, leaks, outages, etc.).

Works nights weekly and rotating weekend shifts.

Demonstrate the ability to adapt to technology equipment and software upgrades. Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential to this position.

Perform library collection development and maintenance services. Create content to share library services (i.e. blog entries, handouts, displays, electronic).
This job is Exempt and is not subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
