Job Summary
The Group Facilitator is a qualified individual with experience in substance use disorders. Group Facilitators must have the ability to work as a team member and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team in providing quality treatment services and client care. The Group Facilitator is responsible for running multiple group sessions daily and completing documentation in a timely manner. The ideal Group Faciliatator has excellent communication skills and demonstrates passion and empathy for the treatment of the co-ocurring population.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Minimum 1 year of full-time employment working in human services or in behavioral health sciences
- Knowledgeable of State guidelines and Joint Commission standards
- Must be familiar with 12 Step Recovery programs and/or additional recovery supports
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Completes clinical groups for patients
- Counsel clients or patients, in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making change.
- De-escalates AMA and other patient problems.
- Conducts and documents a daily group for all patients
- Attends daily interdisciplinary team meeting to enhance communication with clinical staff regarding program and patient issues.
- Complete all assigned paperwork in a accurate and timely manner.
- Communicate with other staff as necessary to promote quality patient care.
- Participate in maintaining clean, properly supplied and efficient work areas.
- Interact appropriately with patients, showing them respect while maintaining boundaries.
- Exercise sound professional judgment and seek assistance as necessary to effectively manage patient behavior.
- Familiarity with proper protocol for ROIs, PHI
Skills/Abilities:
- Utilize knowledge and skills to provide group therapy, meeting the patient's treatment needs and requirements.
- Document client progress/regression according to established policies and procedures in a clear, concise, timely manner.
- Provide pertinent patient information to clinical team based on evaluation in group session interactions, to assist in the patient treatment process.
- Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
- Adaptability to changing situations in the work setting.
- Work as a team member, following client centered approach at all times
- Complies with company policies and procedure and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Meets with supervisor on a regular basis for biweekly supervision
- Has effective time management skills.
