Job Description: CVOR Tech - Bismarck, ND
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CVOR Tech to join our team in Bismarck, ND. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiovascular operating room procedures, including open hearts, CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting), and valve surgeries. This position requires a commitment to high-quality patient care and the flexibility to cross-train into general OR if CV volumes are low.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the cardiovascular operating room for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons during open heart surgeries, CABG, and valve procedures.
- Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are sterilized and ready for use.
- Scrub in and provide direct assistance during surgeries.
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to all infection control policies and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Cross-train and assist in general OR procedures as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotation approximately 3-4 times per week and every other to every third weekend.
- Float to different areas as required.
Required Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Verification
- Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) Certification
Schedule:
- Guaranteed 32 hours per week, with the possibility of being scheduled for 40 hours per week.
- 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, 0645-1515 (start at 6 AM for open heart cases).
- On-call duties approximately 3-4 times per week and every other to every third weekend.
- First to float in case of staffing needs.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of CVOR experience.
- Proficient in open heart surgeries, CABG, and valve procedures.
- Must be able to first scrub independently.
- Willingness to cross-train into the general OR is essential.
