Shasta Pools is currently seeking a Steel/Rebar Technician. The Steel/Rebar Tier role is very critical in our pool building process, as its primary function is to secure steel rebar or mesh in concrete forms in order to reinforce the concrete. Use of a variety of hand tools and fasteners for tying steel, you will be required to perform additional duties as outlined below.
The steel technician needs to have the following tools to complete the job:

Hickey bar or rebar bender

Wire cutter/Linesman Pliers
-
Bolt cutters
-
Leather Gloves
In addition, Shasta Pools will provide the following:

Plans and Spec Sheet that explains what work is to be completed.

Engineering or Steel Standards from SML to give detailed directions on how the rebar should be installed.

A Truck and Rebar Trailer for mobility and ease of transportation from job to job.
Job Responsibilities:

The technician will be assigned a job to perform by the Project Coordinator (PC).

The technician will come to cooperate and load his job for the day. The job will consist of 20’ lengths of rebar ranging from #3’s to #4’s, along with 3” blocks for blocking the rebar structure off the dirt and also tie wire to hold the rebars together.

The technician will arrive at the job site and inspect the pool to ensure that the job has not received any damage and is ready to install per the job-specific plan and steel standards.

The technician will install the rebar into the pool per the designated engineering standards for that specific pool.

The rebar will be blocked up to maintain proper distance from the dirt per the engineered standards specific to that pool.

Once the job is completed, the technician will inform the PC so that the next phase can be ordered.

The Steel Technician will clean up the job site and remove any inert material that is not pool related.

The Steel Technician will bill for the work done and turn in their billing to the appropriate Accounts Payable person.
Physical Requirements

Position will be based outside with prolonged exposure to extreme high temperatures or extreme low temperatures.

Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Must be able to stand, walk, use hands to handle, feel or operate objects and tools or controls,
-
Must be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Must be able to withstand loud noise.

Must be able to pass a background check, including motor vehicle check.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.
