YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)
The Spa Assistant Manager will play an important role in overseeing the operation of the Spa, and Athletic/Gym area at the Virgin Hotel & Casino, ensuring guest satisfaction, quality, and maintenance of hotel assets according to established policies and procedures
The Spa Assistant Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, motivating, and evaluating, staff to ensure that employees have adequate guidance and resources to achieve objectives.
Requirements:
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)
This role will work closely with Spa Manager to:
- Implement and maintain department objectives, standards, guidelines, budget, and other administrative processes to achieve proper supervision of the department
- Monitor inventory items to ensure proper control, the ability to facilitate guests' needs, and maintenance of Spa standards
- Always maintain a clean, organized spa to maintain all state board and health department standards
- Research, evaluate, and implement programs to promote facilities and profitability in all areas of responsibility
- Effective management of labor to include scheduling and managing labor to meet business demands
- Assist guests with concerns upholding the highest level of guest service standards, ensure expectations are exceeded while operating within established guidelines and policies
- Coordinate with Lead Massage Therapists and Aestheticians to ensure proper inventory of professional use products and linen inventory pars
- Assist in training and upholding all departmental and company policies and procedures
- Responsible for ensuring Service Providers, Spa Attendants, and Spa Receptionists have completed their assigned duties throughout the day
- Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities on time, ensuring work is completed with accuracy and detail following departmental processes
- Taking responsibility for questions or issues that may arise when upper management is not present

MUST HAVE'S
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Book 4 Time
- Review and comprehend all necessary documentation
- Observe and direct the actions of subordinates
- Always communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees
- Evaluate and understand financial statements and work within set financial guidelines
- A minimum of two years of experience in a resort spa environment or related field, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity
WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S
- Bachelor's degree in administration or related field
- A minimum of three years of experience in a resort spa environment or related field, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity, is acceptable in exchange for the required education
THE WORKING CONDITIONS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, and kneeling without restriction, work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and pet dander/hair
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, and maintain physical stamina and mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines
- Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods
