Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

General Summary: We are looking for an organized, motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This is an in-person position and is expected to report to our local office 8:00am – 4:30pm daily.
To ensure success in this position, you should be comfortable with a variety of accounting tasks. An excellent accounting clerk is analytical, accurate, detailed, well organized, and able to communicate clearly within all levels of the company.
Major Functions:
- Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
- Calculate and transmit sales tax
- Understand compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, 1099, etc.)
- Understand expense accounts, cost centers, and intercompany transactions.
- Assist with the monthly close process
- Monthly bank account reconciliation
- Respond to information requests and assisting with audits.
- Maintain Confidentiality
- Participate in the implementation of a new ERP system as it is rolled out from corporate office.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Independently motivated, with the ability to take on tasks and duties with minimal or no supervision

- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Education and Experience: Associate degree in accounting; 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required.

Contact with others: Regular daily routine requires contact with other employees, sales, and management. Must maintain an extremely high level of confidentiality.
Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision of Controller. Must handle prioritization with a variety of competing activities. Performs tasks independently with periodic supervisory review/audit. Seeks guidance to ensure complete and appropriate action.
Working Conditions: Varied work environment includes office and warehouse. Good working conditions requiring normal safety precautions. Frequent use of personal computer. This position requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands, seeing, reaching, talking, and hearing. May need to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
