Snow City Café is a neighborhood gathering place for friends and families. We close at 3:00pm so working evenings or nights will not be required. We consistently exceed guest expectations with our unique atmosphere, thoughtfully crafted food, drink, and genuine, enthusiastic service.
Our Front of House Managers are responsible for the success of Front of House operations. They are responsible for hiring, training, and productivity of the Front of House team. They should motivate departments on sales building, developing relationships with staff and guests, and ongoing development of the Front of House staff.

Staff Relations
- Provides positive and constructive feedback to all staff
- Supports Front of House supervisors in coaching and completing timely evaluations
- Leads the team by example and knows when and how to support staff
- Sets the tone: energy up and out, and encourages teamwork
- Maintains employee morale for all staff
- Supports Back of House management team as needed
Operations
- Monitors food quality and follows up with kitchen team as needed
- Maintains labor budget within department goals and phases staff accordingly
- Ensures all staff have current certifications on file
- Builds schedules for the Front of House department based on anticipated projections
- Ensures weekly and daily side work are completed efficiently and effectively
- Leads the hiring process, which includes interviewing, reference checks, scheduling new hire appointments with HR, completing orientations for new staff
- Maintains training procedure for all Front of House positions
- Is on the floor monitoring employee and guest interaction, ensuring the dining room looks orderly and ensuring that food going out to tables is up to our standards
- Is able to perform opening and closing duties
- Documents staff and operations issues in daily logs, follows up on issues from prior shifts
- Clearly communicates expectations and needs from staff
Guest Relations
- Sets a standard for staff to welcome all guests
- Comes from a place of yes
- Advocates for the guest and has a willingness to "make it right"
- Handles guest complaints and feedback in a timely manner
- Constantly interacts with guests at the table
- Proactively resolves issues and ensures a delightful guest experience
This is a full-time position with a minimum of 45 work week requirement.
Other Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to communicate, write, and understand English
- Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register and POS system
- Must have basic knowledge of Google Drive and internet navigation
- Must have a current Food Worker Card and a Training for Alcohol Professionals certification (TAP Card, issued by Alaska CHARR)
