Summary The Custom Applicator performs custom application of agricultural chemicals and fertilizer by completing the duties outlined below. This position is responsible for ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads and understands label information from manufacturers and distributors of pesticides, fertilizers, and other products containing dangerous chemicals.
- Evaluates label information to determine that directions for use are followed during application.
- Applies products in a timely, effective and accurate manner.
- Follows guidelines for recording information on weather conditions, product used, field conditions and rates.
- Maintains equipment to insure safe and accurate application. Performs and ensures routine maintenance is completed.
- Prepares, organizes and maintains records to document activities.
- Assists in all Agronomy services, including no-till planter, air seeder and strip-till equipment.
- When experiencing downtime due to weather and seasonal fluxuations, supports all other activities of the location.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years custom applicator experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
- 1AChemical Applicators License.
- Possession of or willingness to get a CDL is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 65 per week
