```Purpose of this Role ```
Big Dutchman Inc. Is seeking an individual who will be an integral part of our logistics department and will be responsible for ensuring a seamless flow of imported and exported products from the various regions outside the United States while maintaining compliance with customs requirements. This role with contribute to the overall objective of increasing our company’s competitive position. This function will work closely with the Purchasing and Customer Service teams to provide clear communication for delivery timing and working through issues. There will be significant engagement with freight forwarding companies
The Initial responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Manage the end-to-end function of scheduling ocean/air freight bookings at the pickup locations for delivery within the United States
· Responsible for management and compliance of HTS codes for products and working with our global locations for accurate product classifications
· Stay up to date with import/export regulations, tariffs, and customs laws to ensure adherence and mitigation of potential risks or delays
· Manage the relationship with the freight forwarding companies and evaluate and review invoice accuracy. Evaluate potential freight forwarders from time to time to ensure best solution
· Manage import/export process to ensure compliance with shipment paperwork and import/export customs requirements
· Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of goods
Proactively seek opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance the overall effectiveness of import and export logistics
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or extensive proven experience in this field
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements
- Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact across different global cultures
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
