Job Description
I. General Summary

With minimal supervision from the Sr. Director of HIM Operations, manages the HIM Team Leads, and the activities of the Health Information Management areas of release of information, document imaging, analysis, transcription, death/birth certificates, physician chart completion, physician escalation, and site-specific regulatory audits.
II. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Document imaging processes with forms management

Support for Corporate Compliance and Regulatory policy revisions and processes

Privacy Officer duties as assigned to include, but not limited to facility policy training, privacy investigations, privacy orientation to new employees and quarterly privacy updates
Qualifications
III. Education and Experience
-
Associates degree in Health Information Management or commensurate HIM experience (7 years). Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, or related Health Information /Informatics field preferred.

BA plus minimum of five years’ experience leading/managing activities in a Health Information Management Department. Seven years’ experience leading/managing activities in a Health Information Management Department preferred.

RHIT/RHIA certification preferred.

Maintains working knowledge of Federal, State, HIPAA, HITECH, CMS, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies requirements.

Strong analytical and organizational skills; filing systems; ability to prioritize workloads; meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure; excellent customer service skills; general office procedures; ability to problem solve and work with minimal supervision; familiar with basic medical terminology; computer experience; typing ability.
