This position will be a member of the Core Integration Services Department responsible for the implementation and ongoing support of Oracle Cerner’s Millennium suite of applications and other integrated clinical applications.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Consistently abreast of new healthcare technology and practices via professional organizations, professional journals, conferences, and other means. Applies and shares new knowledge in the work setting and with staff.
· Conducts in-depth analysis of system related problems to provide recommendations for solving them.
· Serves as an advisor regarding technical aspects of a projects as needed.
· Suggests and implements application workarounds as necessary to maintain normal operations and avoid impedance of quality patient care.
· Provides senior technical leadership and assistance with clinical IT related initiatives and/or projects
· Works with end users and stakeholders to understand their business and clinical processes and collaboratively develop an approach to leveraging application technology.
· Documents current state/future state analyses as well as end user requirements.
· Manages projects and leads multidisciplinary teams of physicians, Medical Assistants, and other clinicians in system planning and design discussions.
· Recommends best implementation practices based on practical experience.
· Assists with the development of implementation project plans.
· Develops and documents standardized system operating/processing procedures.
· Documents problems and enhancement requests, logs points and works with the Cerner team to resolve issues.
· Designs and builds the application database; develop test scenarios, conduct end-user training and cross train other I.S. or departmental resources.
· Prioritizes tasks and manages time to ensure that deadlines are met.
· Reacts promptly when requests are made or situations clearly call for it. Shifts priorities when a timely response is essential.
· Provides continuous support for electronic health record and related applications.
· Evaluates new procedures, projects, services, or equipment for feasibility and/or benefit of implementation.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
· Three years of experience with electronic health record implementations, Cerner Millennium
· Three years of experience with Cerner Millennium Suite of Applications or Health Care IT technical build experience
· In-depth product knowledge of at least 3 or more of the following application solutions: PowerChart, SurgiNet, Order Management, Charge Services, Revenue Cycle Cerner Practice Management, FirstNet, Clinical Documentation, PowerForms,MPages, PowerPlans.
· Two + years experience with Cerner Command Language
· Knowledge of ambulatory clinic workflows
· Basic knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, Open VMS, thick/thin clients (Citrix), wireless networks, desktops, point of care devices and/or server design is a plus.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in a clinical or technical field, stronglypreferred
Required Skills:
· Solid understanding of application integration/interfaces and HL7.
· Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and as part of the Clinical Core Integration Services team.
· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
· Effective team player who adds exceptional skills and contributes valuable ideas, opinions, and feedback.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Prior experience with process redesign in a clinical setting.
· Experience with a structured implementation methodology
· Proficient with using MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Outlook and Visio.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
HNAM Cerner Foundations or Fundamentals Certification within 1 year from hire

Pay: $94,972.80 - $162,510.00 per year
