Job Summary:
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for promoting safe, clean, appealing, and functional condition. Under supervision, performs routine, scheduled and specific assignments. Emphasis will be on the Associations clubhouse and grounds which includes swimming pools, tennis courts, courtyards, PAR 3 golf course, and landscaping. Other assignments can include maintenance of vehicle gates, trails, signs, and parks. Work may be performed independently or as part of the maintenance or Somersett staff team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair;
- Manages projects and ensures there timely completion;
- Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines;
- Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project;
- Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected;
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repair;
- Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed;
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures;
- Performs routine maintenance on and around facilities and parks;
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities including but not limited to parks and gates;
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance;
- Executes event and activity infrastructure as planned;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience in a related field;
- Proficient in MS Office;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems;
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods;
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices;
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills;
- Good physical condition and strength;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication;
- Able to handle stress and remain calm.
Education and Experience:
- At least three (3) years of related experience in the field of facility maintenance
- Associate degree preferred – not required
- Obtain a Certified Pool & Spa Operators (CPO) certification within six months of hire
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking and talking
- Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Bend or twist their body.
- Repeat the same movements.
- Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at once
Work requires the physical capacity to work for extended periods of time with exposure to diverse environmental situations and adverse weather conditions.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position and works a wide range of hours including but not limited to evenings, holidays, and weekends. The ideal candidate will be working Sunday through Thursday from 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
