Bartender
Summary
The Kitchen Bistro in Chicago features a seasonal menu in a refined rustic atmosphere that is warm and inviting. The bartender is responsible for preparing and executing, from memory, all classic drinks as well as cocktails on the menu for guests at the bar and in the dining room. Our bartenders support the team and help to create and maintain an exciting, inviting, and progressive environment. This person should be a high-energy, outgoing individual who will help to foster connections with friends, family, and the community through service, food, and drinks. Responsibilities
- Service aspects include guest relations, ability to perform objectives in a timely and efficient manner with a focus on quality, while always maintaining an environment of hospitality.
- Take drink orders from patrons or servers and prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes. Mix ingredients for cocktails and serve wine and beer.
- Take food orders and serve guests who dine at the bar.
- Process collect and handle payments.
- Responsible for setup, maintenance, and operation of the bar including washing, sterilizing, and polishing glassware and instruments. Assist with the proper opening and closing of the restaurant.
- Assist other servers and staff as needed; model and promote teamwork.
- Promote and embrace the restaurant’s community and culture by demonstrating respect, positive energy, dependability, honesty, initiative, outgoing nature, and a pleasant, professional appearance.
- Support the restaurant's vision and responsibility of being eco-conscious.
Qualifications
- Must have at least two years of bartending experience and be passionate about hospitality.
- Superior temperament, adaptable nature, and good communication skills.
- Motivated professional with a love for taking care of others.
- Demonstrate integrity in all areas, both personal and professional.
- Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly.
- The ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to serve alcohol.
Working Conditions
- Ability to perform all functions at the restaurant level.
- Working with hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment as well as operating office equipment.

- The employee may be asked to walk to local businesses, promoting, marketing, and distributing materials as needed.
