The Department of Psychiatry is looking for a full time Associate Research Scientist for research in the field of cannabis and human behavior. The Associate Research Scientist will work closely with research participants conducting placebo-controlled human laboratory studies investigating the behavioral effects of cannabis and cannabinoids.
Duties:
- The Associate Research Scientist will pursue independent grant funding through development and submission of NIH-funded research proposals.
- The Associate Research Scientist will work within the division on substance use disorders to support ongoing and planned research activities relevant to his/her career development goals.
- The Associate Research Scientist will conduct independent research, present findings at scientific conferences, and publish first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
PhD, or equivalent degree in behavioral neurosciences or a related area.
Preferred qualifications:
- The successful candidate will have long-standing experience and expertise in behavioral research as well as an academic grounding in the field.
- English language proficiency and strong communication skills (both oral and written) required.
- Strong publication record that includes a combination of peer-reviewed journal, research reports, and other outputs in addition to speaking engagements with diverse audiences.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $102,000.00 per year
