Position Description:
As a pivotal leader within the Cuts Production team, the Production Manager plays a vital role in managing the production areas of Get Fresh Company. This position involves overseeing various aspects of fresh produce product lines, maintaining quality assurance standards, and upholding food manufacturing excellence. The incumbent will be responsible for hiring, training, guiding, and coaching a skilled team of food assembly, cutters, and processing personnel. Upholding the core values and mission statement of Get Fresh Company is paramount to fostering integrity and a positive work culture.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage, direct, coordinate, schedule, and evaluate Fresh Cuts’ Production employees, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and relevant laws. This includes recruitment, training, performance appraisal, and conflict resolution.
· Ensure all team members receive comprehensive equipment training and certification to maintain a safe work environment.
· Prioritize and execute the daily activities and staffing requirements of the Fresh Cuts team to meet agreed-upon performance standards.
· Facilitate effective communication across all departmental levels within the organization.
· Drive improvements in food safety, human safety, first-time quality, line/labor efficiency, and ingredient/product yields.
· Manage and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor departmental performance.
· Verify labor hours and ensure accuracy in payroll reports.
· Supervise production shifts and make staffing decisions based on employee performance.
· Demonstrate proficiency in all job functions within the process room.
· Implement a continuous improvement process within the team to enhance overall performance.
· Foster effective communication channels to promote teamwork and efficiency between departments.
· Maintain flexibility to adjust work shifts as required by production and staffing needs.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Leadership Team and VPs.
Qualifications:
- Ability to review, manage, and evaluate Profit & Loss Statements, KPIs, and reports with strong analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills to influence departmental standards and efficiencies effectively.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, decision-making, organizational, and time management skills.
- Willingness to work weekends and/or shift work, demonstrating a strong work ethic.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks under pressure with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfort working in varied temperature conditions, including cold (refrigerated < 40°F) and warm (50°F - 85°F) climates.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform tasks such as identifying and sorting produce.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, following instructions and procedures effectively.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 5-7 years of progressive experience in relevant roles or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in food processing, manufacturing, and management.
- Proficiency in computer skills and related software such as WMS, ERP, and Production Management Systems.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
