In this facility we manufacture OEM industry superior valve seat inserts made of sintered alloy. We are seeking to hire a Maintenance Electrician/Technician to join our growing team in Grand Haven, MI! 1st shift core hours 6:00AM- 2:10PM Monday- Friday (weekends possible)
80 hrs. Vacation (prorated quarterly) and 40 hours PTO eligibility

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Inspects, repairs, modifies, and maintains electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and other equipment.

Orders and installs new electrical parts.

Follows blueprints and diagrams.
-
Performs preventative electrical maintenance on machines to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.

Performs emergency/unscheduled electrical repairs of production equipment as needed.
-
Assesses and ensures there is no hazardous or unreliable wiring in accordance with local electrical codes.
-
Troubleshoots machine problems and carries out required remedies, including ordering and installation of new parts, and repairing existing parts.

Performs preventative maintenance on machines to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.

Installs, repairs, rebuilds, and maintains precision machines and production tools.
-
Performs emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment, as needed.
-
Ensures safety mechanisms of machines are in place, as appropriate.
-
Creates and posts necessary notes for production workers for safe and efficient operation of machines.
-
Supports with maintenance and repair of furnaces, compactors, grinders, and inspection equipment.
-
Assists with installation of new machines.
-
Trains supervisors to troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical problems with the machines.

Participates in training employees to operate machines (and on how to operate electrical functions, where appropriate).

Checks inventory and orders parts, as appropriate.
-
Maintains machine user manuals and has thorough understanding of content.

Supports, as requested, with general plant maintenance and cleanliness following Company 5s guidelines.

Operates forklift.

Works with other maintenance team members to handle any general ‘housekeeping’ matters in the plant, including but not limited to: minor construction projects, replacing light bulbs, changing filters, welding, changing oil, snow removal, and monitoring the dust collector, compressor, voltage meter, and the hydrogen and nitrogen levels, etc.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Work is performed most of the time on a moderately noisy manufacturing floor.
While performing duties of the job the Associate is required to:
- Sit, stand, and move around a large work area.
- Walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and/or climb stairs, and navigate tight spaces.

Balance on a ladder or step stool.

At times, will require the use of a hard hat.
-
Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
NOTE: On occasion, this position requires the use of the following PPE gear:

half-face particulate filtering respirator (no facial hair to maintain integrity of fit)

earmuff-type hearing protection

protective jacket

This work for this occasion is performed in a manufacturing setting in an enclosed temperature-controlled area.

State of Michigan Electrician’s license, Electrician Journeymen certification a plus.

Minimum 5 years of electrical experience.
-
Extensive knowledge of functionality of electrical components of machines.
-
Four-plus years of experience with manufacturing equipment maintenance.

Extensive knowledge of functionality of machines.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and has a strong understanding of the systems.

Computer knowledge and experience, a plus.

Ability to think independently to trouble shoot and creatively resolve problems.

Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment diplomatically and effectively.

Ability to effectively work independently, as well as within a team environment.

Basic math skills.

Must obtain and maintain a valid powered industrial truck operator permit and State of Michigan driver’s license.
