Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Insurance Coordinator to join our medical office team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all patient insurance information is accurate and up-to-date, and that all insurance claims are submitted in a timely manner. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, coding, and managed care principles. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a medical office setting and be familiar with ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems.
Responsibilities:
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for services
- Obtain and update patient insurance information as needed
- Accurately code medical records and diagnoses using ICD-10 and ICD-9 codes
- Prepare and submit insurance claims in a timely and accurate manner
- Manage and track patient insurance claims to ensure timely payment
- Maintain organized and accurate records of patient insurance information
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies to resolve billing and insurance issues
- Participate in the development and implementation of insurance policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other members of the medical office team to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Stay current with changes in insurance policies, billing procedures, and managed care principles
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems
- Experience with ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems
- Proficiency in medical records management and insurance verification
- Experience working in a medical office setting
- Familiarity with managed care principles and insurance policies
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with medical coding and billing software is a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
