POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Relations Specialist provides high quality administrative support and serves as the first point of contact to assist the patient by helping them understand the process and steps necessary to obtain medical care at our organization. The Patient Relations Specialist is responsible for collecting patient information, preparing various medical documents, and explaining policies to patients as needed, patient check in, and follow up appointment scheduling at check out.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greets patients and their caregivers on arrival.
- Coordinates the intake process for patient check-in and appointment completion process for patient check-out.
- Collects and verifies patient information: approved identification card and or document and proof of insurance and enter it into the electronic health record.
- Provides patient with billing and payment information, explanation of procedures, practice policies and protocols.
- Address and resolve patient inquiries within their scope of practice.
- Performs general administrative tasks.
- All other job duties assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum Required: High School diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE:
- Proven work experience or relevant training as a Patient Relations Specialist or similar role.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic health records, and other data entry systems.
- Ability to multitask and maintain strong attention to detail.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Compassion and patient-centered; customer service skills.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills; detail oriented with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to listen to patients, referring offices and internal colleagues, and understand and respond positively to their requests.

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
