Job Description
Under the supervision of the Branch Executive Director, the Aquatics Director is responsible for creating, implementing, scheduling, and staffing aquatics & swim team programs. Including all lifeguard scheduling, aquatic fitness programs and swim programs and classes. He/She is responsible for budget, programs, and other duties as deemed appropriate and or necessary. He/She will model, practice and carry out the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of the position.
Qualifications
Education:
B.A. Degree in Education, Recreation or a related field or comparable work experience
Required Certifications:
· Must maintain a valid Driver’s License & Clean Driving Record
· Complete CPR/AED, First Aid, O2, and Lifeguard Certification / LTI
· CPO training a plus
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
· Ability to walk, stand and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
· Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
· Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds in weight, waist high.
· Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
· Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, climbing, stooping and walking.
· Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
· Must have the physical dexterity to use telephone, computer, electronic equipment, exercise equipment, tools and office machinery.
· Ability to drive a YMCA vehicle.
· Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time.
Experience:
Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds and the ability to plan, execute and evaluate programs and especially comfortable working with seniors and the wide range of ages, faiths and races that make up the Wisconsin Rapids population.

Knowledge & Skills:
· Interested in contributing to the mission, voice and culture of the SWC YMCA.
· Strong written and verbal communications skills
· Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Gmail and ability to quickly learn other software programs
· Able to multi-task and assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work product
· Schedule: Available to work evenings and weekends
Essential Functions
Supervise all aspects of swim team, aquatics fitness programs, specialty group programs, scheduling, and pool operations.
· Understand and adhere to all Y policies and guidelines.
· Plan and develop swim team programs working with swim coach.
· Plan and develop all aquatics programs.
· Maintain a high quality of programs.
· Recruit, develop, organize and supervise Program volunteers.
· Develop and update Program training Manuals.
· Review and evaluate staff performance.
· Conduct lifeguard, swim lesson instructor and safety certification trainings.
- Responsible for safety drills/audits, monthly documented staff meetings/development and trainings.
- Ensures staff certification records are current and fulfill all in-service standards.
· Contribute to advertising composition for senior/specialty group and aquatic programs.
· Ensure adequate marketing of all programs.
· Organize and compile program schedules.
· Collect and compile program evaluations.
· Support Y programming on non-adult and aquatics programs.
· Coordinate and facilitate all programs in your department.
· Must stay within budgetary guidelines for income and expenses in relation to program and instructor fees.
· Responsible for all correspondence related to Adult Programs, specialty groups and aquatics.
· Supervise on and off-site programs: group orientation, adequate host communication, and available support for problem solving.
· Schedule monthly service meetings with department staff to work out logistics.
· Coordinate group logistics and disseminate program details in a timely manner to appropriate directors and department heads.
· Develop new programs to meet budget growth expectations and service to our members.
· Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

- Oversee Swim Team, Swim meets and Swim Team Committee budget and structure
- Organize and assist with special events
- Attendance and participation in committee and team meetings.
- Monitor and update all required staff certifications, scheduling and facility needs.
- Audit programs and staff on a regular basis to ensure high quality standards are met.
- Review and certify accuracy of department payroll
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and incident/accident reports are filed promptly.
- Schedule yourself 20+ hours on deck per week
Lead marketing efforts for all department programs
· Prepare content and marketing efforts to streamline marketing efforts & communication for your programs and department
Other
· Serve as an exempt staff member to the SWC YMCA, performing those duties as assigned by the Branch Executive Director and or CEO
· Actively and enthusiastically support the branch and association goals and directions through effective completion of tasks and verbal display to peers, staff, members and guests
· Serve as a member of the branch management team performing specific duties which support the overall success of branch operations.
· Communicate information promptly to all branch leadership and departmental staff.
· Attend applicable training and conferences to further professional development.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
