Position Summary
The Café Manager for The Green Tomato Café is responsible for the success of the entire café while adhering to Lawndale Christian Health Center’s mission and guidelines, the Health Department’s regulations, and The Green Tomato Café’s standards of expectations of customer service and overall guest delight. The Café Manager is responsible for directly managing and supervising the staff, the cleanliness of the café, and menu and supply management. This position solves problems professionally and quickly, as well as maintains and teaches a good work ethic while developing a sense of teamwork and cooperation within the team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Recruits, hires, trains, schedules, and motivates and educates staff on training topics during pre-shift meeting and throughout shift.

Manages employees, regulates business operations, and resolves customer issues during shift.

Oversees staff members to ensure that performance expectations are understood.

Oversees staff punctuality, customer service, and guest satisfaction.

Ensures compliance with standards, laws, and regulations as created by regulatory and accrediting organizations such as: OSHA, State and Federal Governments, etc.

Works with supervisor to ensure that the cafe’s services are provided at the highest standard of customer care.

Organizes and manages the staffing needs for catering orders and support of Senior Services programming.

Manages finances of the café, including all café accounting and reporting duties in collaboration with Director of Accounting, daily, weekly and monthly reports to monitor sales and expenditures, and management of all café accounts and monitor food pricing, invoices and vendors.

Develops processes, trainings, and tools designed to help continuously improve the performance of the café.

Performs other duties as required helping LCHC accomplish its mission.
Required Skills or Abilities

Comprehensive understanding of cafe related issues involved in providing quality food and customer service in a foodservice setting.

Experience working in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.

Experience and demonstrated abilities for working in a multi-cultural setting.

Ability to strongly embrace and personify the mission of the Lawndale Christian Health Center, through providing or the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of all staff members, customers and patients.

Ability to organize, direct, prioritize, and delegate work appropriately.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Required Knowledge, Education, Experience or Licensure/Registration

High school diploma required, college degree preferred

Foodservice experience preferred
