Sales/Estimator – Job Responsibilities:
- Achieves established sales goals and targets
- Serves customers by selling products and meeting customer needs
- Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets
- Keeps management informed by submitting weekly bid logs
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, etc.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
- Performs cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
- Establishes, develops and maintains positive business and customer relationships
- Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
- Analyzes the territory/markets potential, track sales and status reports
Job Deliverables:
- Effectively navigates projects of varying size and complexity, including small/large projects, renovations and phased construction
- Successfully manages architects, engineers and subcontract partners in a diligent and collaborative manner
- Accurately reviews plans, specifications and other documentation to understand project scope
- Prepares detailed and accurate construction estimates
- Reads architectural drawings and input into PlanSwift
- Follows approved estimating practices consistent with company guidelines
- Reviews plans, specifications and other documentation to understand project scope
- Performs accurate takeoffs
- Composes, submits and tracks RFIs
- Reviews and evaluates subcontractors proposals
- Ensures timely completion of bid packages
Skills for Salesperson:
- Proficiencies in PlanSwift, Excel and Adobe preferred
- Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors, both locally and nationally
- Blueprint/drafting skills
- Ability to assemble both labor and material estimates
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-years-experience in sales. Experience in the building materials and construction industries preferred
- Experience in detailed estimating, scheduling and proposal development
