Intro
Renewable Solar Inc is a rapidly growing solar energy service provider with a need for experience electrical foreman who can assist in scheduling, quality control/craftsmanship, and material management. We expect this position to be filled by a leader who can train and mentor our crew members and contribute to improving the production, proficiency, and professionalism of the construction department. Lastly, RSI is a team. We seek talented and skilled trades men and women who effectively communicate and work well other company members.
Position Overview
Primary responsibility is managing safe, quality, and efficient construction in support of RSI projects. Crew leads will work closely with the foreman to plan and execute work. We expect crew leads to be proficient in their aspect of the solar installation and lead racking/module installation, underground work, or DC wire stringing.
Core responsibilities:
- Understand and review construction plans to determine your assigned scope of work.
- Lead a team in the safe completion of daily activities and enforce all RSI policies.
- Conduct quality control inspections and fix discrepancies.
- Review your job’s material requirements and make material requests through your site foreman or logistics request as required.
- Supervise operation or operate equipment in a safe and productive manner. Complete required maintenance and safety checks.
- Provide daily work progress updates to the site foreman verbally or written through company software platforms as required.
- Provide reviews of employee performance to the site foreman when requested.
- RSI is a Team First. Be prepared to help where required to complete team tasks.
Requirements of the Position
- Extensive knowledge and experience in racking installation, DC wiring or underground work.
- Experience in working with or around heavy equipment including forklifts, excavators, or skid steers.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a solar installer.
- Basically, familiar with construction safety regulations. OSHA 10 preferred.
- Comfortable with leading a team of 4-10 employees and working along side other trades on a construction site.
Supervisory Controls
Foreman are a critical piece of the RSI Construction team and will report to your foreman. Crew leads are directly responsible for the performance of their crew.
Foreman are expected to work 45-50 hours/week, with core hours being Monday-Friday 5AM-3PM with a paid lunch.
Summer Saturday work is frequent, especially in cases where the contract schedule needs to be maintained.
Standard travel is around 10%; however, you must be prepared to do so.
Evaluation Factors
Site Superintendents will be evaluated based on project driven metrics, and their ability to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget.
Pay Scale
Foreman pay compensation is $22-$29/hour.
