Job Description: As an MSP IT Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional technical support and solutions to our clients. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving IT issues remotely and on-site, ensuring that our clients' systems and networks operate smoothly and efficiently. You will collaborate closely with our clients to understand their IT needs and provide proactive support to prevent potential issues.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, network connectivity problems, and system failures.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT systems, including servers, workstations, routers, switches, and other network devices.
- Perform system upgrades, migrations, and installations as required.
- Implement security measures to protect clients' systems and data from cyber threats, viruses, and malware.
- Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
- Document all activities, solutions, and configurations to ensure accurate record-keeping and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct regular maintenance and performance tuning to optimize clients' IT infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance and training to clients as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as an IT technician, preferably in a managed service provider or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, networking, and security principles.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, and other commonly used business applications.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites (local only) as needed.
