Heavy Equipment Operator
We are looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to work on civil infrastructure projects. Candidates must be able to safely operate heavy construction equipment such as excavator, loader, gannon, skidsteer, backhoe, compactor, forklift, dozer, haul trucks, water trucks, and/or motor grader and perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections on equipment daily. Performs assigned tasks according to applicable policies and procedures and always assures safety standards.
Requirements:
- Acceptable driving record is required for operating on highway motor vehicles.
- Must be able to operate manual transmission vehicles and equipment.
- Must be able to pass a drug test (including random testing)
- Must be able to pass background checks and obtain security clearance/badging as necessary to work at high security job site locations throughout Arizona.
- Trench safety, competent person, confined space, fall protection, and OSHA 10-hour training is highly desirable.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Minimum 45 to 50 hours per week.
- Some weekend and night work required depending on job requirements.
- Working outdoors in inclement climate.
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements and adhere to applicable safety policies.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, steel toe boots, seat belt, gloves, face masks, fall protection, etc.
- Acceptable level of correctable vision for Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral and Depth Perception.
- Hearing must be sufficient for being aware of back-up alarms and for normal conversations around loud heavy machinery.
- Use of both arms and legs required.
- Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds or more, climb, bend, stoop and stand for long periods of time under adverse field conditions.
