POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Maintenance Technician is accountable for assisting with a full range of maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and facilities.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely maintains and repairs equipment used during the production of underground storage tanks and accessories
- Practices preventative maintenance by monitoring all equipment used during production
- Accurately utilizes purchase log, process sheets, and maintenance records
- Assists with rebuilding and making adjustments on portable tools, heaters, lift trucks, and other equipment and machines as required
- Assist with the maintenance of the electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, water connections and fittings, compressed air systems, air filters, and all heating and cooling equipment throughout the manufacturing plant
- Assist with the maintenance or arrange maintenance of fire sprinkler systems, static electricity arresters, and fire doors
- Other related duties as required
- Trouble Shoot Minor Mechanical Issues

- Prioritizes Between Multiple Required Tasks
- Employee is responsible for following safety practices in handling materials, tools, machinery and equipment; providing optimum manufacturing quality; using materials effectively to reduce waste; and working efficiently to meet plant production/ labor schedules.
- The Maintenance Technician will make recommendations and follow directions given regarding machinery and equipment use, repair and replacement.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver’s license
- Preference will be given to candidates having forklift experience / certification / Fall Protection / Aerial Lift Experience or certification
- Able to promptly diagnose and correct mechanical and equipment problems
- Basic understanding of electrical troubleshooting and repair
- Requires skill in operating tools and equipment and an understanding of the conditions that may impact their performance
- Competent in performing building and equipment maintenance, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry work
- Skilled in performing repairs on controls, motors, portable tools, electric hoists, hydraulics, diesel engines, tow motors, cranes, air compressors, heaters, welders, lift trucks, bench and floor power tools, chain fans, boilers, air conditioners, blasting equipment, and motor vehicles
- Ability to work from wiring diagrams and equipment manuals for rebuilding equipment and manual repairs
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good understanding of the English language including verbal, written, and reading skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with others and work as part of a team
- Ability to learn new tools and equipment as required for the position
- Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces when required
- Ability to work variable hours including shift work
- Physical capabilities include bending, crouching, kneeling, and the ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Availability to work weekends as needed
- Ability to source parts/materials and prepare paperwork for requisitions
