Field Based- Los Angeles SUD clinician (LPHA) will provide direct SUD services to the patient population as needed. SUD clinician will report to the program director and receive supervision from a licensed clinician of the Agency. SUD clinician’s primary responsibility is to verify medical necessity of patients utilizing DSM -V criteria for Substance Use Disorder
Responsibilities:
SUD clinician (LPHA) is the lead clinician providing direct services to patient population. This position oversees all clinical activities and works with case management, counselors, clinicians and medical staff in the provision of comprehensive service delivery. The SUD clinician will report to Program Director.
Duties:
1. Verifies medical necessity for the treatment of SUD
2. Assess patients for the presence of SUD utilizing ASAM criteria
3. Creates individualized treatment plan and discharges
4. Monitors progress on patient treatment plan
5. Facilitates individual and group counseling sessions
6. Provides case management and care coordination services
7. Attends weekly staff meeting
8. Completes all services and documentation within agency policy timeframes
9. Completes a minimum of 24 hours of annual training hours
10. Provides signatures on indicated documents requiring LPHA approval
11. Participates in case conferences
12. Participates in peer reviews
13. Participates in Agency/Program performance and quality assurance projects
14. Adheres to safety protocols
15. Performs other clinical duties upon request
Position Requirements:
1. Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LCSW, MFT, Licensed Psychologist)
2. Certifications in Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavior Therapy
3. Valid California driver’s license and insurable driving record.
4. Live Scan fingerprinting clearance for FBI, DOJ and CAI
5. Health screening clearance
6. Demonstrates ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
7. Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills
PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Must have the visual, physical and technical ability to independently operate a variety of office equipment including the use of a computer.
2. Must be capable of bending, stooping, filing, lifting of at least 25 lbs. and able to interrupt physical altercations.
3. Must have the ability to verbally communicate well with others.
