JOB SUMMARY:
The Cabinet Maker works with the manufacturing group to fabricate high quality cabinetry and other wood-surfaced and composite subassemblies. Interpret material specs and engineering drawings to ensure finished product meets the design spec with a high level of quality and detail. This role will involve working closely with other departments to create products that meet quality, cost, and delivery goals set by the Director of Manufacturing.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Designer Function
1. Manufacture of high-end furniture and other wood and composite subassemblies using conventional machinery and hand tools.
2. Add creative assembly techniques to current designs and able to give feedback to design team to achieve best shop practices incorporation into the engineering design element.
3. Complies with and champions safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and ensures the protection of aircraft interiors.
4. Works with lead and high-end cabinetmakers to develop and implement process improvements that increases safety, reduces cost, cycle times, and man-hours using Lean process improvement techniques.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
1. Mentors and trains lesser skilled technicians.
2. Oversees maintenance of machinery and shop tools.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:MINIMUM:
1. High school diploma/GED
2. Understand material specifications and engineering drawings to meets design and engineering intent with a high level of quality and detail. Coordinates with manager to ensure compliance with customer approved design samples.
3. Able to operate a variety of woodworking tools and demonstrate a clear understanding of woodworking techniques.
4. Advanced knowledge of cabinetmaking processes and products.
5. Eight (8) years of experience in cabinetmaking
6. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
7. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
8. The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
9. Must be computer literate.
PREFERRED:
1. Experience in aerospace industry
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
2. Subject to continual loud noises.
3. Visual acuity must be a minimum of 20/40 corrected.
4. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, stand for prolonged periods of time; climb steps, ladders and/or service stands.
5. Able to work assigned schedule with minimal absences.
