Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician inspects, maintains, and renovates various residential homes in Hall and White Counties. You will help provide our residents with a safe, clean, and functional home. Properties include small multi-family, single-family, and mobile homes.
We are looking for someone who likes to work independently and knows how to do basic maintenance and repairs. You don't have to know everything. Some things can be learned and other more complex repairs or renovations can be completed by someone else. We can be flexible to make a schedule work for you. You will start out on an hourly contractor basis with the opportunity to become an employee, if desired.
Experience:
A minimum of 2+ years of experience in general maintenance or construction, good customer service, and communication skills
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge and experience with electrical, HVAC, appliance, and plumbing systems
- Carpentry skills for trim, doors, windows, painting, & flooring
- Possess basic tools. Specialty tools will be provided as needed
- Ability to use smart devices and property management software for maintaining accurate records
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to use a smart phone app to receive and update maintenance requests
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills, being able to discover the root of a problem and fix it
- Ability to be at work independently and on a regular and consistent basis, including some weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to perform work that requires climbing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs or more
- Driver’s License and reliable transportation required
Job Duties:
- Perform ongoing preventative maintenance and repair work on homes, including but not limited to carpentry, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Utilize troubleshooting skills and experience to repair various home systems.
- Perform Inspections on homes
- Respond to emergencies, including after-hours calls.
- Perform improvements and minor renovations on vacant homes
- Keep a tidy workspace and clean up after each job.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work independently at the property and cooperate with property management and other staff members while maintaining a positive and professional relationship with the residents.
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
