Responsibilities:
Prepare sandwiches and other food items according to customer orders
- Follow established recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients
- Handle cash transactions and operate cash register
- Provide excellent customer service, including taking customer orders and answering questions
- Upsell menu items and promote daily specials
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
Skills:
- Experience working in a fast-paced food service environment
- Knowledge of Heartland POS system or similar point-of-sale software
- Strong food preparation skills, including slicing meats, cheeses, and vegetables
- Basic understanding of retail math for cash handling and making change
- Ability to upsell and suggest additional menu items to customers
- Familiarity with the food industry and current food trends
- Excellent time management skills to ensure orders are prepared in a timely manner
- Knowledge of proper food handling procedures to maintain safety standards
