Alamo Biologics, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, is a distributor of high-quality tissue allografts to physicians, dentists, hospitals, surgical clinics, and tissue banks.
Processing Technician I - 1st Shift (5:30am-1:30pm), 2nd Shift (1:00pm-9:30pm), 3rd Shift (9:00pm-5:30am).
Sat. & Sun. Day Shift (7:00am-7:00pm) & Night Shift (6:00pm-6:00am).
Compensation: $16.00 - $25.00 based on experience, plus a $2.50 shift differential, depending on shift.

The Processing Technician I position plays a vital role in ensuring that surgeons receive the correct tissue for a transplant in a timely manner. 1. Responsible for the aseptic processing of tissue including bone, soft tissue and osteoarticular grafts to produce frozen, fresh and freeze-dried allografts to be used for transplantation.
2. Operates heavy surgical machinery to cut, shape and prepare grafts for implantation. Including operation of bone mills, band saws, CNC machines and other pieces of equipment used in the production, packaging and storage of tissue.
3. Assembles, disassembles, inspects, cleans, maintains, and monitors equipment and instruments used in processing.
4. Documents all processing activities completely and accurately on processing paperwork and in electronic records software.
5. Communicates deviations from procedures and abnormalities to responsible parties (Supervisor, Management, Department, etc.).
6. Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal policies, processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as external regulations as determined by regulatory agencies.
7. Evaluates disposables and equipment for non-conformities and notify responsible parties (QC, Supervisor, and/or Management)
8. Performs general lab cleaning, wrapping, sterilization and maintenance activities. Operate steam autoclaves for sterilization of instruments, equipment, and consumable supplies used in the processing of tissue.
9. Safely disposes of hazardous and nonhazardous waste generated during the manufacturing process.

Physical Requirements:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to balance activities that require seeing, listening, touching, and verbalizing needs.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus and perform procedures involving hand-eye coordination.
· Regularly required to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time.
· Frequently required to walk; climb ladder or step stool; sit and reach with hands and arms.
· Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
· Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Education and Experience:
· High School degree required with minimum one (1) years' experience in one of the following areas and/or equivalent combination of education/experience:
- Tissue Banking, central sterile supply, surgical technician, or pharmaceutical or medical manufacturing experience in a sterile environment preferred. Experience in woodworking or in the food manufacturing, market food prep and/or perishables fields may also be considered.
· College course work in the life sciences or knowledge of CGMP's preferred.
