Roles and responsibilities: As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Service and repair fire alarm systems and other low voltage systems according to industry standards and local codes.
- Start-up new systems, and modify existing databases using system programmers.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with fire alarm equipment, including control panels, detectors, and notification devices.
- Assist with regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability.
- Collaborating with team members and clients to provide education and guidance on fire alarm system operation.
- Documenting all service and maintenance activities accurately and timely.
- Responding to emergency service calls to resolve system issues promptly.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years minimum experience in the fire alarm industry as a technician, or an installer.
- Proficiency in interpreting drawings, submittals, technical diagrams, and schematics.
- Factory training from Autocall, Simplex, Edwards preferred.
- Active NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems, Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA & IBC codes, regulations, and other local standards.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
