We are apart of Main Street United, the leading, locally-owned media outlet serving communities throughout the Midwest.
You will work hand-in-hand with Emergent Defense Magazine’s publisher and senior leadership. There is a need to connect to many of those within the defense industry as we seek to learn of their need for exposure.
Daily outbound calling and emailing is the norm. You will be creating proposals and doing follow up based on the meetings which you will sit in on. You will also work with those that are clients to execute on their marketing needs. We also have a need to connect on a daily basis with those that are apart of our Global Editorial Board to keep them informed and participative - so not all work is commission-based and some 25% is administrative.
Through the magazines, our digital platforms, and events we connect great businesses to their ideal clients. We seek account executives that will do more than sell ads. Our executives embolden leaders, connect readers, and reinforce a sense of community amongst all stakeholders as they build lasting relationships with businesses. This role will earn compensation by commissions, and a salary of $30k.

What We Are Looking For:
Our executives are driven professionals who are passionate about making a positive impact through their work. We seek a person who performs well in a sales capacity and has the ability to work in partnership with Eric Harmon (Owner), other publishers, Main Street Media Company, and its corresponding Profit Center Leaders that will provide all services from Sales Support, Editorial, Design, Event Coordination, Circulation, HR, and all other back office support.
The right candidate will bring a strong sales stamina and old-school work ethic every single day. This person must be comfortable and appreciate the mission of those working in the defense industry. With this being a fully remote role and a media outlet within launch phase, this person has to be a self-starter and be comfortable working independently.
This is a partnership, and your shot at upward mobility, while significantly limiting your risk. This venture, however, is more than a new media platform - it has a unique mission.
We will also require need to participate with defense conferences, to display and network, and at events that we have.
We will utilize our Inside Sales Manual, and within are the guidelines for success that are mandatory for the partnership to work. We do encourage those that have an appreciation of the military to apply.
