Role Overview: The Job Coach will provide students with direct supervision both in and outside of the workplace in order to refine their employability skills; this work may take place one-on-one and/or in a small group setting. They will be responsible for helping students learn, accommodate to and perform their work duties. In addition to working on skills related to performing specific job tasks, a job coach will help students acquire the necessary interpersonal skills that will be essential in all working environments.
Specific responsibilities include collect and enter students CDOS hours into agency approved systems, transport students to and from job sites, provide Vocational Counseling services to students to assist them with developing positive employment attitudes and behaviors, developing job seeking and retention and career exploration skills. while at the work site, directly observe the abilities of the student/employee and any areas needing improvement to provide the student with immediate feedback and assistance, and evaluate the student at the job site on an ongoing basis and create a plan of action to help the young person grow in their position.
At least two years’ experience working with adolescent students. Experience with special needs population preferred. Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred. Licensure/Certification: Valid Driver’s License.
Starting Hourly Rate: $18.00
