Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic individual that has a proven commitment to the food and excipient industry. This position will work collaboratively with management, maintenance, and operations to build on the company’s commitment to production of quality ingredients. Reporting to the Corporate Office and Senior QA Director, the Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for leading the quality assurance department in compliance with both CFR requirements, as well as GMP, and ISO requirements. The QA Specialist will be responsible for updating the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and will help to define, communicate, and implement the company’s quality strategy and vision.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee GMP production operations, including establishing and maintaining SOPs, training logs, and oversee GMP compliance.
- Verify proper critical control points are being maintained and recorded.
- Ensure that processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented, and maintained.
- Perform monthly internal audits, track, and trend quality metrics.
- Conduct all duties in compliance with safety rules, applicable SOPs, and other relevant guidelines
- Oversee the allergen program to prevent product contamination.
- Manage all quality issues, investigations, recalls, deviations, change controls, inspections, clearances, and training logs.
- Assure review and approval of batch record documentation, master batch records, quality control results, packaging, and labeling documentation.
- Co-represent, alongside other Staff, the Quality function during inspections by regulatory authorities and customers.
- Work closely with Inventory and Procurement to solve incoming product quality concerns.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in science or similar technical discipline is required.
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance preferred.
- Understanding of industry regulations including: 21 CFR 111, cGMP, FDA, and related audits.
- Experience implementing cGMP requirements in food, dietary supplement, and, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Experience in managing quality assurance technicians and staff members
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good knowledge of MS Office and databases

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
