Center for Urologic Care is looking for someone passionate about supporting our community by delivering an unmatched level of care by helping us expand our In-Office Dispensary Service. Our Dispensary Technicians support the entire operation of Center for Urologic Care’s in-office dispensary, as we strive to deliver a service to our patients that allows them to receive their medications from their urologist at the time of service. This enables our patients to ask questions regarding the medication in person, and have everything they need to live a healthy life when they leave our office.
This small team is responsible for the operational management of all dispensary services, as we head into our 2nd year of this program. This role helps us deliver on our mission to deliver unmatched care that is compassionate, convenient & cost effective and the ideal candidate MUST have a commitment to both business & personal growth to be successful @ CUC. This person should love interacting with people, have a strong drive for results, and enjoy collaborating with others to support our patients and the care they deserve. Our Dispensary Technician is also expected to participate in any additional tasks that help support the vision and values of Center for Urologic Care of Berks County as we grow and expand what we offer to our community.
Responsibilities:
- Uphold and support the vision and values of Center for Urologic Care
- Preparation of medications for patients
- Perform insurance verification and prior medication authorizations
- Receiving and verifying the prescriptions
- Pricing and filling of prescriptions
- Obtaining physician’s approval prior to dispensing of medications
- Completing patient paperwork related to the filling of prescription
- Assisting with insurance claims processing
- Stocking and pricing of medications in inventory
- Performing inventory audits and purchasing supplies and medication
- Counting prescription medication, typing and attaching medication labels
- Ensuring availability of drugs for patient care
- Ordering medication inventory in a cost conscious manner
- Maintaining pharmacy’s (and its patients’ employees’) safety by adhering to infection-control procedures, policies and regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally with clinical staff and patients regarding patient care needs.
- Work collaboratively with leadership team on strategies, ideas, solutions towards improving processes, work flows, revising policies or procedures which can enhance the patient experience, employee experience or the corporation.
